LGBTQ Racial Justice Fund Grantee Southerners on New Ground proudly announced that they have two new team members, Mickyel “Micky” Bradford and Eujenia Osoria, on January 13, 2016. Eujenia will be focusing on SONG’s migration justice work, which is grounded in coalition with formations such as the #Not1MoreDeportation Campaign, and Micky is the new organizer for the TLC@SONG program, which builds on the expertise of both the Transgender Law Center and SONG. The Racial Justice Fund supports SONG to build relationships with #Not1MoreDeportation and TLC, and applauds the hire of these terrific leaders. Micky and Eujenia both have deep Southern roots and bring commitment, experience, and magic to our movements.
You can read more about Eujenia and Micky within SONG’s beautiful winter reflections, which reflects SONG’s belief that social justice issues that matter to LGBTQ people of color – from defense spending to deportation, from prison abolition to the fight for safe and fair-waged jobs for trans people of color – are all connected. For the Racial Justice Fund and for SONG, it is about building a South Free from Fear – and a United States, and a world.
